SUGRU

Oh, hey there! I loved this Sugru project. I must say, I was looking through the other blogs and I don't think anyone did anything remotely similar to mine. Just saying.

I really like doing special effects makeup and have been doing it for quite a while. So, I thought I would integrate the Sugru into this interest. I first made a mold out of the Sugru:

Then I poured liquid latex into the molds, which turned out like this:

I will admit that they look kind of weird. In fact, this whole project was weird. Anyway................

I was going for kind of a "Mystique" type look, but not really. I just went with it. I have made liquid latex molds before many times, with a variety of substances, and the Sugru worked AMAZINGLY. I was worried the latex would react with it in some way, but it was fine.

I didn't really experience functional fixation or whatever it's called. So, without further ado, my final transformation:

(This Animoto was a pain in the ass by the way, so enjoy it everybody. PS I realize I look terrible in the first couple pictures. ITS THE ARTISTIC PROCESS!!)

I drove around and stared at people at red lights like this.
It was hilarious.

  1. This idea is super creative. I didn't understand what you were talking about at lunch when you were trying to explain it, and I'm not sure I entirely understand it now, either. Your first two pictures didn't upload correctly, so that doesn't help much. But overall, I think it could lead to something bigger and better if people opened their minds to it.
